WE ENABLE PROJECTS TO STRENGTHEN THE LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM
Current projects, initiatives or regular events we are proud to support:
OUR LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM
You are invited to explore what a healthy and sustainable food system looks like through a series of events being hosted between August – November 2021 by the City of Onkaparinga, City of Marion, Alexandrina Council and Mount Barker District Council.
How can a healthy and sustainable food system drive climate change action? Support local jobs? Reduce food waste? Connect us as a community?
These events will help design a toolkit to help local governments enable local resilient food systems in the face of climate risks.

ADELAIDE EDIBLE GARDEN TRAIL
The Adelaide Edible Garden Trail celebrates the many ways Kaurna Land residents are creating food sovereignty while saving money and the environment — and enjoying the health benefits of homegrown fruit and veggies.
For this first-time 2021 event, six backyard growers opened their gardens via informative online video tours, sharing their knowledge and inspiring you to get growing at your place.
This initiative was coordinated by a small group of volunteers: the Growers Collective with Sustainable Communities SA, the Awesome Foundation, City of Onkaparinga, City of Holdfast Bay, Green Adelaide and the SA Urban Food Network.
