If you manage a restaurant, cafe, grocery store, supermarket, farm gate stall, farmers market, community-supported agriculture group or food company, you’re a ‘Retailer’ in our food system.

Below you’ll find every local resource we currently know about that will help you as a Retailer.

Eat Local South Australia

The Eat Local SA online directory provides an easy way to find venues that serve and sell authentic South Australia food. Through their website, thousands of people explore local food from restaurants, cafes, pubs, and cellar doors through to farm gate, retail, catering, accommodation and food tourism experiences.

If your food business is making an effort to serve and promote local food, you can participate in Eat Local SA for free.

Pick a Local Pick SA

Pick a Local, Pick SA

Pick A Local, Pick SA aims to highlight the role independent retailers play in the horticulture industry. By supporting this statewide program, you can help contribute to the sustainability of South Australia’s horticultural supply chain. This helps ensure the survival of local producers and the family-owned and operated businesses, individuals, communities and industries that rely on them.

Local Harvest

Local Harvest is a community mapping project, initiated by the Ethical Consumer Group, that makes easier to find local and more sustainable food sources. This includes a national directory – a searchable, interactive map – for finding food co-ops, swap meets, community gardens, farmers markets, box systems, ‘pick your own’ farms, farm-gate products, organic retailers, and more.

Want to be listed on the Local Harvest map? Read their Inclusion Criteria to ensure you or your business qualify, then fill in their ‘Add Listing’ page.

‘Connectors’ are South Australians who volunteer their time to help link our network, providing information, contacts and connections to our members.

We don’t yet have a Retailers Connector!

Are you our missing connector? Are you interested or already engaged in this space? Do you have good connections with others? Or do you keep up with relevant events?

Then please – get in touch by emailing us at

What’s involved? Less than an hour a month (when needed) responding to questions and letting us know about resources or events within your food space.
